Copper Coin Stories is a tiny studio for comics and other story shenanigans!
Its a place for stories of hope, of love, and of silly jokes that bring a smile to your day.
Though my studio/collection of stories was never given a name until more recently, all of this really began back in the mid-2010's (back in my middle school days, haha) when I started drawing characters and writing stories. Were they amazing? Absolutely not, pfft. But that started a continual growth and love for the storytelling Copper Coin Stories aims to do now. And many of those characters (or other elements) have made their way into newer versions of some of my stories.
Now, with a self-published comic ("Beyond Aurega's Walls" - both online and in print), Copper Coin Stories is here and ready to even more creating. Come along and join me for the adventure!
Why Copper Coin Stories?
Based on the Biblical account of the poor widow who gave the only two copper coins she had left to the Lord (Mark 12:41-44/Luke 21:1-3), "Copper Coin Stories" was named as a reminder of my purpose in creating the things that I do.
I don't know where God will take me in my storytelling.
But whether I have much or nothing much at all, I'm here to give all that I am and all that I have to Him. Not a fraction of my abundance, but all of it. And my desire/ability to create stories is part of that.
Will all my work explicitly mention Jesus or be about my faith? Lol no. But I want to tell the best stories that I can with the gifts God has given me. Good stories. Ones with meaning that are worth telling and reading. Ones that, together (with my life), hopefully do point people to the greatest story of hope and love I've ever known, even if only as faint reflections.
Again, I don't know where God will take me or how He might use all of this. I mean practically, how much of a difference can a penny make, right?
But that's just it. This isn't (or at least shouldn't be) about my reputation or how I can change the world. This is about the God who sees the heart behind the poor widow's offering, who fed five thousand with a few loaves and fish, and who has used our brokenness for good throughout history.
I'm just being faithful in surrendering to Him the little that I have.
So regardless of how much of an impact this will have--regardless of what anyone (including me) says or thinks...
Here are my two copper coins.
About the Creator Nahee Lee
...I'll change the photo on the right at some point. Or on second thought, I might not pfft. As you can tell, I'm super professional.
Anyways...
I'm Nahee, a Canadian artist and comic creator who loves Jesus, storytelling, young people, and musical soundtracks. I'm currently a Visual Arts major in university and am working on writing/drawing different graphic novel projects (like Thick as Thieves).
When I'm not busy with school or creative projects, I like to... well to be honest, I'm probably still thinking about my creative work then. The art and writing gears are always turning, haaa. But I like to sing along to soundtracks (either with my family or to their annoyance), work with kids and youth, and then probably get back to other creative projects again. I recently started playing and streaming SuchArt: Genius Artist Simulator too! (Shocker. An art game—who would've guessed).
